About

Sakhi Saheli Foundation

Women in India, especially in rural India are yet to achieve what they strive for. Many of them are still “Unskilled” and work for very low wages, if at all they get to work. Many government schemes have been introduced for Rural women's empowerment in India but still women in rural areas face challenges in engaging in economic activities because of gender-based discrimination and social norms, disproportionate involvement in unpaid work, and unequal access to education, healthcare, property, and financial and other services.

In one such remote village Ramna-Dafi in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where women are largely work in fields and take care of their houses and children, an NGO - Sakhi Saheli Foundation started in 2020 with an aim to strive for giving the right to equality to the rural women in and empower them with various skill development programs. Sakhi Saheli Foundation is headed by Mrs. Meenakshi Singh who herself comes from a very humble background and has been active in skilled based training to the women from economically weaker background for more than a decade.

The NGO - Sakhi Saheli Foundation is working rigorously to help these women to give gender equality by helping them to stand on their feet and contributing equally in their families and society.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to empower the socially & economically marginalised women by helping them through various skill based trainings, create their own identity, earn and contribute in their families and society
